Open Day on Culture Day, February 8, 2025

The Gallery warmly invites you to our Open Day! Join us for a diverse program that will delight all generations and enjoy free exploration of art, poetry, and creativity.

Program:

10:00–11:00: Kamishibai and Children’s Workshop “Prešeren in Love” with Mojca Nose
Who doesn’t know the beautiful feelings of being in love? Even our greatest poet, France Prešeren, couldn’t escape them. Luckily, his emotions inspired some of his finest poems.
Enjoy the kamishibai performance Prešeren in Love, followed by a creative workshop where children will make puppets of Prešeren and his beloved. Through storytelling and crafts, children aged 4–10 will learn about Slovenia’s greatest poet.

10:00–18:00: Exhibition and Virtual Exploration
Explore our unique collection of naïve art with the help of the GLST Virtual Guide. Meet our new virtual assistant, Sam Rastnik, who will guide you through the exhibition with a detective twist!
You’ll also have the last chance to see the exhibition The Secret of Watercolor – The Power of Color and Light.

17:00–18:00: Reading Prešeren’s Poetry
End the day with magical moments as you listen to the timeless verses of Slovenia’s greatest poet.
