Ambrož Testen, artistic awareness of the final years

You are cordially invited to the opening of the exhibition Ambrož Testen, artistic awareness of the final years on Thursday, 28 February 2019, at 6 pm.
The exhibition wil be focused on works of Abmrož testen (1897-1984), born in Loka near Mengeš, who created his opus in Croatia. He painted in monasteries in Zadar, Dubrovnik, Cavtat, Orebić, in Kuna on Pelješec, on Krapanj, in Šibenik and on Rab. His the most creatively period was on Rab, where he was a forager of monastery museum and in the meanwhile he was also painting.
This exhibition is one of the rare presentations of Abrož Testen in Slovenia and will be dedicated to the 35th anniversary of his death.
Interweaving the motives from the legend of st. Frančišek Asiški, The Holy Bible, every day life and Dante’s Divine Comedy will ilustrate the Tesetn’s religiously deepth and amazing expressiveness, which can be compared to the most seen expressionists of the world.
The works from the collections of Franciscan museum of st. Bernardin in Kampor, Croatian Museum of Naive Art and from the private collections were for the exhibiton collected by Margarita Šimat, who has been devoted to Testen’s creations for some decades already.
The exibition will be available to visitors until 5 May 2019.
Exhibition will be uncovered by its author Maragrita Šimat.
The exhibition will be opened by the Mayor of the Municipality of Mirna Dušan Skerbiš.
