You are invited to see the art meeting, which will take place on 23 September 2023, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the STIK hall at Goliev trg 1 in Trebnje
and to view the exhibition of creations of past meetings, which will be on view from 23 to 30 September 2023, also in the STIK hall.

The art meetings of the five elements were organized for the first time by the CIK Trebnje in 2019 as part of the Forma viva Trebnje project. As part of the project, we have chosen the theme of elements in order to raise awareness of the importance of protecting nature and the environment. In the first art meeting, we focused on the element of water, and in the next five years focused on a different element and its importance for the protection of nature, environment and energy. The first meeting was dedicated to the element of water, which connects the municipalities of Trebnje, Dolenjske Toplice and Žužemberk, which participated in the project, in the second edition in 2020 we dedicated ourselves to the earth, in 2021 to fire, which we connected with metal, and in 2022 to air. In 2023, we add the last element to the cycle of five elements, ether.
Ether has historically represented the most mysterious of all five elements. In Greek philosophy, it was considered a transparent element that appears in the heavenly bodies or it fills the space between the stars and planets. The idea of an aether occupying interstellar space was retained even later. In the 17th century, Jakob Bernoulli developed the idea that “the hardness of bodies depends on the pressure of the ether”. Isaac Newton connects the ether with gravity. Just as ether is intangible, the so-called forbidden colors are also intangible. These are colors such as stygian blue, hyperbolic colors and self-luminous colors that are not part of the normal visual spectrum but are produced in the brain. At this meeting in Trebnje, ether and these special colors will inspire creators to find new artistic solutions.
Since the element of ether was also associated with movement in antiquity, we placed the art meeting on the day of the autumnal equinox, when we move from summer to autumn. The art meeting will therefore take place on Saturday, September 23, 2023, in the STIK hall in Trebnje.
